This weekend we participated the club show organized by the Czech Pyrenean Breeds Club. We took Sonny to his last show, as already announced, there is no reason to force him or drag him into an environment that he is uncomfortable with. We also took Millie with us, who is still not in show condition, she is naked, coatless and since she has now grew a lot to height, she looks and is actually quite skinny. Millie successfully passed the breeding assessment. We have medical examinations in February, and if the results are OK, Millie will become approved brood bitch. The show was judged by an Italian breed specialist and breeder of this breed, Elena Vespa. I have been communicating with Elena for a long time and I own several paintings of "Pyrs" from her work, so I was very much looking forward to meeting each other. At the same time, I knew that Elena was very thorough in her judging, and also very strict, and I was particularly looking forward to that. She really devoted a lot of time to judge each individual and examined them very thoroughly. At the end of each class, she explained why she chose the individual or evaluated it with a mark, which she finally evaluated. I tried to listen to the assessments of other individuals, because I consider it very important that the owners, exhibitors, and therefore breeders understand the standard and essence of the breed. For many individuals, the gradings were not exactly flattering, and I think we all needed such an "wake up call". Over the last year and a half, the pandemic has made it impossible to invite foreign specialists to the breed, so many of us were used to very easily get the grade "excellent", CAC, CACIB, BOB and BOS, etc. Thanks to such an approach we have many champions, but unfortunately not completely in the correct type. Now I fully understand breeders, owners and exhibitors who go exclusively to exhibitions, which are judged by a breed specialist, or go to exhibitions abroad where those specialists are. I really liked the approach of this judge, that there is no need to "give away" all the titles and trophies. Simply, if the dog did not looked like it should have, it did not receive an award just because it was there and there were only a few of them in the group. What value does a champion title have if the dog / bitch is not in the correct type? In order not to say that my contribution is focused only on certain favorites who did not left the show with flattering results, I would like to emphasize that it applies a lot to us as well. Sonny usually gets the grade "excellent" and also CAC in the intermediate class. It was Elena who gave him only the grade "very good". And I proudly boast about this judgement, because I think that everything that the judge criticized about Sonny is absolute truth, which I also see and I completely agree with her opinion. Millie, on the other hand, does not do well with the so-called "all-round" judges due to her condition, and I am sorry for that, because also as Sonny's shortcomings I am very well aware of her in many respects high qualities. Millie received the mark "Excellent" 1 and CAJC in the junior class, but more than her grade, I am pleased with Elena's words, as part of the assessment, when she raised all her qualities and alerted me to others that I did not realize before. But she also said that Millie needs to get some coat and weight as well. Perhaps people will understand the difference and stop being angry about how the judge evaluates them. And although they say in a full tone that they don't care, their actions show the opposite. Not only did I see false information, but also, a minute after the assessment, there were no happy posts about "very goods" on social networks, as is the case when "excellent" and all the other titles around are received. Sometimes we just need a tough realization to come back to the ground. But overall, I would consider the exhibition as perfect. Except for a few unsatisfied exhibitors, the atmosphere was quite positive. The compliment goes to the committee for allowing us to have our dogs judged by this judge and thanks also to some members of the committee, with whom I had the opportunity to spend some nice moments and have a nice chat. Perhaps the pandemic will not limit us so much in the future and we will have the opportunity to have our dogs in the club for the Pyrenean breeds judged always sufficiently strict and the breed very well knowledgeable specialists. The club show of the second club also took place on the same day. As a member of both clubs, I was interested in participating in both club shows. But being in two different places at the same time is impossible, so I preferred the one Elena judged. But a big congratulations goes to my friends Jitka and Barča to the show successes, which they got with their darlings (uncles and aunts of our puppies) at KV KCHMPP.
This weekend, this year's show season is completely over for us. With winter coming, the work around the house and farm increases. We will now enjoy the last moments together with the puppies, the dogs on the pasture, the sheep and try to get back to the "rest mode" and overall harmony.
The puppies are 9 weeks old today, which means that they can go to their new homes in a week, but most of them will stay with us for a few more weeks. The first puppy, male Aneto, has already left for his new home to amazing new owners in Serbia. According to the photos and videos with which I am receiving daily (and very grateful for them), it is obvious that Aneto is happy and satisfied and so are his owners. Aneto got his name from the highest peak of the Pyrenees, Pic d'Aneto. We made a new photoshoot of the puppies yesterday, the photos will be added to the "Puppies" section and you can find more on our social media. Thanks again to the breeder of Bastán, Jitka, for sacrificing her time and taking pictures of our puppies. It is wonderful to observe how markedly different temperaments they have, yet they bear a large number of common signs. They grow beautifully, make us happy and spread positive energy all around us. Almost all puppies have their new owners.
We still have one male and one female available. Please contact us in case of interest.
Last weekend (October 10, 2021) we participated at the International Dog Show in České Budějovice. For the show we signed our stud male Sonny (Vi'skaly's Sonny Sunbeam) registered in the intermediate class and female Millie (Chenespace One in a Million) in junior class. Millie got Excellent 1, CAJC and BOJ, Sonny in his class Excellent 1 and CAC. Sonny's behavior has been telling us for a long time that he essentially hates exhibitions, especially those that take place indoors. Although he does not come from working lines (and I hate this expression), the atmosphere in our home, his ability of running free on the pastures neighboring the forest, together with the other animals and dog colleagues, suited him very well. He is very stubborn, so if he doesn't want to do something, you won't be able to force him. For this reason, we have decided to end Sonny's "show career" this year and the last show Sonny is going to participate will be the Club Show of the Pyrenean Breeds Club on October 16, 2021. We respect that every being has the right to freedom, so we won't force him to do something he doesn't like and is uncomfortable for him. We left home for the show in a relatively good "show condition", combed and clean. Millie is extremely drooling in the car. Of course, she shared her saliva with Sonny in the car on the way, and when we stoped, they rolled in the dirt and in dry leaves and got dirty. Ideal exhibition conditions. Millie has been shedded and coatless, completely naked since the summer. Fortunately, the judge, Olga Dolejšová, understood this situation and did not base her judgement on the condition of her coat.

Also Faury pleased us with her visit. She had a run on the pastures with her "Pyr" pack. Faury is an incredibly kind and empathetic female. Although she is currently hairless, she is a beautiful girl. Her visit will always make us very happy. Upon arrival, she immediately flew into her "ex-dad's" office and, of course, kissed him. Only after that she gave attention to the rest of us. She enjoyed the sheep, cows and also a short walk to the local pond. Thanks to her wonderful owner Denisa for visiting, I will never stop being grateful for her wonderful care and the amount of love Faury receives. As usual, Faury left with a bunch of yummy gifts, which she undoubtedly deserves.
The last amazing news we received today is Sonny's (Vi'skaly's Sonny Sunbeam) orthopedic results. They ended up the same way as his his colleague's Zippa's. Hip dysplasia HD A/A, elbow dysplasia ED 0/0, patellar luxation PL 0/0, OCD free on both sides, spondylosis and transitional vertebrae without finding, as well. We are still waiting for the results of genetic tests, and for the examination of hereditary eye diseases in June. Sonny should undergo a breeding assessment during the club show during June. Perhaps everything will turn out well, and it will be successfully validated as a stud male - then he will be available as a stud dog for healthy, approved bitches.
Among other things, we were visited as usual by girls from the kennel Patou von Traumberg. The future grandmother of our planned litter "A" Alba and also her young daughter Cariňa visited us. She won our also spirited Hungarian heart with her Spanish temperament on the first visit and therefore a visit of this hot-blooded southerner will always make us very happy.
We would like to inform you that we are gradually adding a photo gallery on the web. However, due to capacity reasons, you will more often find photos on social networks.
I don't know if we can talk about what's new at this time. Most conversations are about either the weather, coronavirus, or regulations in different countries. But we still have one great news. In January, our Zippa reached the age of 18 months and underwent a number of medical examinations. Everything turned out as best as possible. From the examinations required by the club, we passed the examination of hip dysplasia with the best possible result of HD A / A, as well as the examination of dislocation of the patella with the result PL 0/0. Other orthopedic examinations that Zippa underwent were elbow dysplasia with the result ED 0/0, OCD with the result 0/0, LTV with the result 0 - unaffected, and spondylosis 0. Out of the genetic examinations we have done DM ( degenerative myelopathy) with an N/N result, without detection of a gene mutation, as well as multifocal retinopathy CMR1, also with an N/N result, and we also had her DNA profile done. Her eye examination awaits us during April and we will of course announce the results.
Based on Zippa's great health results, we decided not to postpone litter "A", so we can look forward to our very first litter in the summer autumn of this year. Informations about parents can be found in the section "Puppies".
Rodentáli Zippa (20 months)
As for the pregnancy of our sheep, everything is in the stars, but from what we see, the girls have rounded up nicely, so we hope that the herd will grow during April. There were huge frosts and very low temperatures, so the weather comlicated for us the separation of the sheep into two herds and we had to make quickly another „barn“ from ny materials we had, so they can hide on a warmer place. Hopefully we will have enough time soon to start to build a completely new barn for the sheep. But for now, we have our hands full of work with the reconstruction of the guest house - for you.
Like most of you, we are usually at home. We are very lucky to be able to spend time outside with the animals. With the closure of kindergartens, we have a new little helper. He helps, with anything he can, although as all parents might know, the help of our children sometimes tends to do more work. Also calves were born on the neighboring field, so we go to "check" with our little helper.
One of the nice little things we had was Faury’s visit. She is already a huge and very smart young lady, her leg is already completely healed and fully functional. I am thankful to her owner Denisa for the wonderful care she gives her and for the visits, which always make us very happy. Another nice visit we had were the girls, Biesca and Cariňa from kennel Patou von Traumberg. They visited us together with their owner and breeder. Although our sheep are used to dogs, even very active and energic puppies, I was prepared to chase sheep somewhere in the woods or neighboring fields for the rest of the day. However, nothing like that happened, the girls were completely calm, they sniffed and „inspected“ the sheep and behaved very naturally in their presence. It was also a great social interaction for Sonny, with whom we (as well as others) do not have much opportunity to socialize ioutside our home thanks to the regulations. Sonny found two more friends. We also made a small trip, to kennel Perla Silesia, to the opposite end of the republic, to tease the dogs and look at the mother who was expecting at that time. Puppies were born at kennel Perla Silesia at the end of February and we hope that we will be able to come and see them soon. For now, we wish them good health and strength in life.

I would like to wish you all a lot of strength, no one has it easy. A lot of people get into a bad mood or get depressed. Perhaps a light will soon appear at the end of the tunnel and we will be able to see each other normally, as it used to be.
We haven't added any info or photos to the web or our social networks for a long time. Not so much is happening, thanks to the rough time we have to face. Moreover, the rainy, shady sad weather does not help to the sad mood worldwide. Thanks to that weather, we are not able to make any nice photos to share. As my great friend says when I ask her how her dogs are doing she always responds, "they didn't say anything but they eat and poop" i might say, lately it’s the same here. The new sheep have already acclimatized beautifully, for the last month the older ones have been accompanied by a breeding ram of the Charollais breed, so we hope that they will succeed and by the end of spring we will be able to enjoy the birth of the lambs.

It makes me very happy that our "little" Millie (a.k.a. Miluna) is doing very well on the pastures. We spend with her more and more time there the last days. She is the first of our dogs, who did not show the slightest tendency to chase sheep.

You might have noticed that philosophy is a very strong and important part of my life and the life of my family. That's why I regret how people in these times when it is important to support each other are in „war“ with the "others" just because they don't share the same opinion (and then actually because they share it). I am sorry to see individuals use the platforms of their social networks or websites to accuse others (even without names mentioned). When they appropriate general facts and present them as their own opinions with a patent. After all, more people may share the same opinion, and we should be happy that we are not alone with that opinion or point of view. Once the grass is green, it is green, and no one will say that the grass is the same color as when you mix blue with yellow. I also regret how people strongly express their sympathies or antipathies through "likes", "hearts" and "kisses" or, conversely, complete ignorance on social media. I am sorry how the unhealthy self-confidence has grown from the small successes of individuals and also the fact that the humility that everyone loves to mention in connection with our breed has disappeared somewhere. Hard times are trying us and none of us knows what will happen next. We do not know whose help we will need and who will need ours. That is why it is important not to burn bridges and build barriers, but to put aside senseless disagreements and unjustified conflicts. Each of us shoul look at the mirror and honestly say that we have made or haven’t made any mistakes. All I can do is believe that all of us who truly love this breed will eventually stop fightin, blaming and accusing each other and we will all find a common path and respect for others.
I would like to wish you, in the name of our family, pleasant and peaceful holidays and a successful new year, health, love and satisfaction for everyone, and a great deal of positive energy,
Katka from the Treehouse

The typical fall weather came to us for a few days. From morning to evening fog and rain, mud everywhere, gloomy mood and cold. This created some space for us to get cozy for a while and to relax a bit outside of urgent duties. With a cup of hot tea, we were finally able to enjoy each other and also finish the website. And so we greet you, from the historically first post on our blog! We will try to update the website as often as possible. Some links will remain empty for now and will be filled later. You can find more news on our accounts on the social networks Instagram and Facebook. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail, social networks or telephone.
